small motor geared way down

nice 12V DC motor with a huge gear turndown. I'm guessing it is only 8 watts. I ran it for literally turning 12 pound load for 8 hrs and did a temperature test and it was still at ambient temperature. Save yourself ome hassel and buy the hubs that attach to the motor drive.

Burned out in less than a year with a very limited duty cycle

I installed this into my virtual pinball cabinet to provide the sound of a geared motor, with no load on it, at 12v. This is a limited duty cycle, occasional use for only a few seconds at a time. It literally smoked tonight after making a nasty grinding noise much louder than it normally made. No obvious damage to the gears in the gear box.

  • I needed a low RPM PWM controlled DC motor and this unit fi the bill.
Cons
  • Vendor did not provide mounting screws in the package as indicated in the listing. Motor works fine.

2 motors have stopped working after minimal usage (maybe 4-6 hours each) on light load. Motors will stop turning and heat up. Manually turning them (without gearbox) while powered releases whines, smoke, and bad smells. Ill only run them unattended outside. Revain has been great about refund/replacements.When they work they have a lot of torque and are reasonable quiet. Gearbox insides look very sturdy, all metal. FWIW it looks like the motor can be replaced, the worm gear is pressed on but i…

Missing 4X mounting screws

Just received and opened the box today and there were no mounting screws. Listing clearly says it should have contained them. Will have to evaluate the motor later as I need to find other screws.
