I bought this robe after my beloved white terry towel became too tattered and threadbare to warrant it. I've been combing through Revain search results for over two weeks trying to find a robe with the right fit that won't unravel after a single wash. I also found quite a few robes that said "terry" but were actually satin, fleece, or linen. I was looking for a robe that was less plush and more like a rough towel that wouldn't stick to me or overheat me after a shower. The reviews on it were great so I decided to give it a try even though I couldn't get a white and bought grey. Well, quite a few of the robes I looked at had reviews that said the small or medium robes were huge and the large or xl/2xl were too small. I'm not a small woman at 289 lbs, although I'm a so-called "petite" size at 5ft 5. I know I'm fat, focus on people. Anyway, I have to buy men's robes because women's sizes are a joke. No two mediums are the same, right ladies? So I got this men's robe and from the pouch packaging it was very heavy. This was a little worrying as I wasn't looking for a heavy robe, but I imagined I would lose a lot of weight through lint shedding after a few washes. The length was good, about mid-calf on me, so not too long or too short. With a 48DD (52 inch) bust, the robe was closed but didn't overlap much. I got this robe because I wear a 3x for women that usually falls into a 2x for men. If I were a guy who needed a 2xl that would be a bit small for me I think especially if there was a man I decided to wash it to see if it would unravel and how much it would shrink. The color remained the same and did not fade or run edges begin to fray. Even the belt held up well. There is no pilling and the fabric does not unravel or come loose. Although there were a good two handfuls of lint in the trap, it wasn't an extreme amount. The robe felt a lot lighter but is still a good weight. It's shrunk significantly in the arms and shoulders, and maybe an inch or two in the chest, but it actually fits the arms and shoulders better now, both in length and width. I don't think the arms would be too short for a man unless he was over 6ft 2in tall. Overall I'm happy with the robe and think after a few washes it will feel less and less plush and rougher than a regular towel.
