Gauges work, but not great. You get what you pay for

If you do anything with refrigerants, spend a little more for quality tools. You're pretty limited in what you can do with this thing, and you'll likely release coolant that you don't need to release if you have the right tools. Also, it does not work properly with high-pressure materials such as R410a.
