Simply put: it's a nice, cheap bag

Indeed, this is a very cheaply constructed bag. The feel of the material, sound of the zipper. all cheap.HOWEVER, it's $9. What are you expecting?Even though it is all cheap components, the build quality is good. The handle and hooks for the strap show no signs of weakness. The bag will be done before they are.My father would have gone out and bought a $30-$50 bag to last an eternity, however this baby will last as long as I want, so long as one at least tries to take care of it.The padding is sufficient enough that I would feel safe if it were to be dropped. However, if dropped on a very hard surface from higher than normal, I would be concerned. that might go for any bag, though.Inside the bag can easily fit 9" side-to-side by 6" front-to-back. It has a divider for the left side held by a strip of velcro on the front and back sides- though this is one of the much cheaper aspects of the bag. not very secure. The side-pouches are a good size, lots of room for anything I would want to stick in them. The mesh netting on the back, and one of the side-pouches, are both fine, though I don't use them myself. The large back one is held by velcro(much, much better velcro, i should add) and the side-pouch is elastic. All in all, I bought this for my upcoming trip to Japan. While I would not buy it again, I have no plans on upgrading it anytime soon.
