Review on πŸŽ’ Top-rated High Sierra Lightweight Student Backpack – Perfect for Kids' School and Outdoor Activities! by Lisa Chandler

Where to put the smartphone?

I bought this bag because I wanted a reasonably priced men's bag to hold my phone, phone accessories, wallet, drinks, snacks and anything else I need to attend jury duty in style and comfort this year. I didn't want anything too bulky because I don't want to look like I'm carrying a huge backpack with everything I have. If it's not much larger than a large lady's bag, I'll get fewer glares from the judge if I carry it to the jury box. The materials seem to be pretty good and looks attractive but the bottom of the backpack is made of the same material as the rest of the backpack but is a bit flimsy for the bottom. As thin as it is, I wouldn't wear anything too hard and sharp and let it drag on the floor. I wouldn't carry around a bunch of bound textbooks in them for fear they would wear out over time. It has three compartments, all full depth. The large compartment at the back has pretty decent padding between the back and the contents of the pack. The next compartment has several divided pockets for pens, glasses, etc. The last compartment has a hole for the USB cable for some reason. I assume you want to charge the device in the package with the solar charger that comes from the package. The only problem is that the compartment is full depth, so any device you plug in will likely end up at the bottom of the bag. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a pocket to put my smartphone in. This seems quite strange since smartphones are a fairly common accessory these days. I'm going to do some stitches separating the two deepest segmented pockets to make them wide enough to fit my phone. One section is approximately 2.75 inches wide and the next approximately 1.25 inches. So when I open it up to 4 inches I should have a deep pocket, big enough not too big in the right place to be accessible but not too accessible. The .High Sierra really needs to add a second layer of fabric to the bottom to reinforce it. I think they should also replace the segmented pen holder area with a 9" x 5" horizontal zippered pocket. Now hold like an average sized smartphone and nothing falls out when the packaging is turned over. This also keeps your phone at the top/middle of the packaging and behind the 2 zippers and 2 layers of fabric. You can also reduce the depth of the smallest outer compartment to make it suitable for small items that you might want to keep accessible and safe on top of the pack. What I received looks exactly as I ordered. I even verified that the product actually exists on the Sierra website, which shows the same images Revain uses. Unlike other reviewers, I have no doubts about the authenticity of this product. Made in China, of course, but looks pretty decent for the price. For occasional overnight trips or day trips like trips to the beach, short hikes, or even jury duty, this seems like a viable option. For everyday, all-day use, like school or college, you might want something sturdier with more capacity and more features.
