Most of these filters that claim to not pass particles or particles will still pass some bases, but not this one. . I've tried 3 other brands alongside this and others which I had to filter twice to ensure the coffee grounds didn't ooze out but they were not only strong but able to produce good tasting coffee. If you have a regular coffee pod like mine that needs a filter (not just a strainer), I highly recommend buying one.
