My wife and I have tried many skin care products that contain activated charcoal. Remember those peeling masks that literally rip your skin off? It was a fun day. We bought this cleaner after loving all the other TruSkin products because they are very good quality. As a man, I'm not ashamed to have it in my heart. It smells, but very pleasantly, not like perfume. Maybe essential oils? The texture is not grainy or gritty like other charcoal products. It's thick and a little goes a long way. They use carbon in water filters to remove impurities from the water. So why not cleanse your skin? My pores are already looking smaller and I've only used it a few times. We love it!
