So glad I stumbled across this book

This is one of the Crafts Guild's finest releases. I bought this book based on the first most helpful review you see here. She got it right about chewing gum and you have to say how highly rated and inexpensive this book is. That's a really good deal. As seen in the cover photo, all of these designs represent the quatrefoil, an ancient stylized quarter pattern found in textiles and the architecture of many countries. This does not mean that all small patterns are symmetrical: as can be seen on the left pillow of the cover, some of the colors and often patterns are different within the quarter. For example, Christmas has 3 white poinsettias with a bell. The other is based on a deck of cards with a king, queen, jack and jester starting from the center, with 4 suits and colored bands surrounding a quatrefoil. All motifs can be processed into a small cushion, but many individual design elements can also be found as greeting cards or decorations. a blank chart with a quatrefoil for you to play around with design and color. I was particularly impressed by the close-ups of embroidery, beading and craft instructions. The materials used are described in great detail and of all the hundreds of stitch books I own, this one has the best full color close-up diagrams and instructions on how to start a line of cross stitches. Demonstrating beads is excellent, as is creating a card with an embroidered insert and adding braids, tassels, or beads.
