If you're the kind of person who stays at home all day and moves between the kitchen fridge, stove, sink, countertop and kitchen table like you're doing ballet, this won't work for you. However, your daily toilet and/or mailbox visits can be counted if you have walked ten or more uninterrupted steps. If you walk nine steps or fewer, they are not counted. This is for the trips to the supermarket or big stores etc when you actually get out of the car and walk across the parking lot. This is for everyday sports like walking in the park. However, these daily walks with your dog may not work to count your total steps. Just use your common sense and know the obvious limitations "less than 10 try again". It's not about getting up from the kitchen table, turning around and walking 2 or 3 steps to the sink, turning around and walking back to the table to sit down. Things like that don't count and shouldn't! This applies to a brisk walk of ten steps or more, not slow stops and a trip to the supermarket. Get up and go, dude! go fast; Walk fast because it's a great pedometer once you understand how it works! It eliminates all the nonsense by only counting meaningful substance and real steps! Isn't that what you want?
