The main reason I bought this card reader was the long cable. All other card readers are designed for laptops, so their cables are short to sit next to a laptop. The longer cable allows me to plug it into the back of my desktop and leave it there. It shouldn't be hanging on the front of my PC where it can get hit and damaged. I use a desktop PC because I want to work. I need a proper graphics card, not a mini version like in a laptop.
