This is a great camera for beginners. until it breaks. I bought this Sony for one of my daughters about two years ago. It worked well, easy to use, she liked it. So, I've got another daughter, great use. Next I got myself one. good camera After about seven months mine stopped working. It was still under warranty so I sent it to a Sony garage to have it repaired. They sent me another refurbished camera, they said they had it, that's what I got. My daughter's camera broke three months ago, exactly the same problem - at first you think that the batteries don't work, then it doesn't turn on all the time and finally stops working. There is no guarantee anymore, so too bad. Four days ago my other daughter said her camera started showing signs of the SAME problem. I called Sony support. Yes, they knew about the problem, and no, they wouldn't switch cameras. I am planning to buy another brand for our next series of cameras.
