Folks, if you A) don't expect this product to work wonders and defy physics, and B) hope you have a sofa with non-removable cushions, then these all work fantastic. Only deducted one star because they are sooooo expensive for what you get. UPDATE: Well after living with them for a few weeks I'm raising my rating. Five stars, easy! The key seems to be whether your sofa has cushions attached or removable. I have what I affectionately call "waiting room couches" with incredibly durable stitched cushions. My "case" is nothing more than a microfiber blanket that I put over it to keep the dog from scratching the vinyl and the vinyl from sticking to my skin on hot days. But even without straps that fix the ceiling, just these plastic rods. for the past two weeks he hasn't moved anywhere, hasn't moved and hasn't come off! I mean overall! Both my dog and I are on these things for several hours a day, slouching, tossing our legs, lowering our legs, lying down, lying down and rolling over. And again just a blanket, without straps. and they stop! I'm sure if the pads had a bend to allow the gripper bars to slide out they wouldn't even come close to working. So keep that in mind when trying to decide whether or not to buy them.
