I was glad to try an embroidery hoop that was not round. They are easier to hold, but I had a hard time maintaining fabric tension even when tightening the outer hoop to the max. On my round hoops, the inner hoop has a small ridge. When you put the inner and outer rings together, that little lip holds the tension. These hoop earrings do not have a small hem, the inner hoop simply sits within the outer hoop rather than resting on top of it like hem hoops do. Nothing prevents him from slipping out of the outer ring, which makes sewing difficult. So, points for the price and size options and comfortable grip, but the lack of a small hem on the inner hoop is a big minus. Perhaps my inability to use it is the operator's fault, but I cannot recommend it for purchase. I will keep looking for this type of tire but with this inner edge.
