Review on Aquasana AQ 5300 3-Stage Replacement Cartridges: High-Performance Refills for Crystal-Clear Water by David Crowder

After over 6 months of impeccable service we recently replaced the filter cartridges in our 5300+R. The housings were leaking CRAZY. After waiting 45 minutes for Aquasana's customer service number (during business hours) we were still unable to reach a representative and the call got disconnected. >: (Here's what we did to get it to stop leaking: 1.) Remove the o-rings from the tops and gently wash them in soapy water with a lint free cloth and then rinse in fresh water, dry - do not scratch 3.) Rinse and wipe threads on tops and filter wells 4.) Apply 100% pure petroleum jelly liberally to o-rings and install on tops of housings 5. ) Use your finger to "lubricate" the O-ring in place with the same petroleum jelly, filling in any gaps between the rubber and plastic threads Element in place, screw the lid onto the pan body - here's the secret to a handshake: simply hand tighten until the sump body stops on its own, then STOP IT about 16 inches. 8.) Place the filter housing back into the bracket and then grasp the top of it (NOT the pan housing) and twist to lock. yes it is paid I'll be weak when it comes back in, but don't twist the sump body, it'll flatten the o-ring and the whole damn thing will pop out like a newbie. new cartridges, we decided to remove them and go with another company. I just think there is a quality difference between the filters you get when you first buy them and the replacement filters. We bought TWO sets of cartridges and neither of them worked as well as when they were first installed. I would not recommend this product at all.
