This one works great on a 5.2 liter Dodge Ram 1500. The original Dodge coil lasted 15 years and 170 thousand miles. Buy a lifetime from O'Reilly Auto and they've only lasted about 30,000 miles each. This one seems to work much better than these and works great. I believe Hitachi was an original equipment manufacturer so I hope this truck lasts as long as the truck. My truck stalled on the freeway and wouldn't start but when I checked there was spark, the only problem was the spark was blue and not the bright orange it was supposed to be. If you have a blue spark, it will not be enough to start your engine. You can test this by removing the coil wire and inserting a long screwdriver from a metal bracket on the truck or other metal part and moving it about a half inch away from the copper pin on the coil and having someone crank the motor should see a nice yellow spark. If it's blue or you have to get a screwdriver very close to the brass clamp then your coil is probably bad, you should always have an extra in your truck for this price.
