These shorts have a wide waist band so they last nicely across the belly and are lightly slimming. There's nice ruching on the sides between the white bands. The material is very thick and feels like proper athletic shorts rather than thin swim suit material which is really nice. This should also limit the material riding up when wet. The thing I'm not a fan of, but seems to be a common issue with boy short style swim suits and underwear: the front of the shorts is longer than the back. This always feels weird to me when wearing and I feel like it makes front wedgies more likely and causes the back to ride up between your butt cheeks. But I know this is a preferred style for most women, front coverage with a cheeky backside.
