Because my fotik is broken, I have to make do with taking pictures with my phone for the time being, despite the fact that the quality leaves a lot to be desired. There was a pressing requirement to capture sporting events outside in the open air. I brought my Canon A480 camera with me to work today. The shooting took place on a beautiful sunny day, which made for great conditions. I took around a hundred pictures, and when I got home and started looking at them on the computer, I was really dissatisfied with the results. All the pictures are just awful noise! In addition to that, the sharpness is not nearly as good as it could be. In the interest of keeping things interesting, I took a few pictures with the LG Optimus One phone. While the images aren't perfect, the low dynamic range and visible artifacts caused by jpeg compression are the main issues with the quality. Yet, the photographs that can be taken with the phone are far superior to those that can be taken with this camera. I took pictures using both the automatic and manual shooting modes. In the manual ISO setting, I have it at 100. Even yet, all darkish objects are speckled, which is something that can be seen with the naked eye and does not require magnification.
