Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhanced Nyko Type Pad - Advanced Bluetooth Mini Wireless Chat Pad with Built-in Speaker and 3.5mm Jack for PlayStation DualShock 4 Controller by Dana Mahendra

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It's just fur. UPDATE: NOT WORTH THE WORK.

I wish I could give this chatpad a higher rating, but it's hardly worth it. Pros: No dongle required, convenient to plug into a controller and self-powered. Cons: (a) It either loses connection or goes to sleep, causing a delay in typing a message. This can be annoying when playing FFXIV as sometimes you need to quickly send a message to your party. (b) You must face the console to ensure a good connection, otherwise press keys in hopes of connecting. (c) There is some lag when typing. When this product works, it barely keeps up. It does what it's supposed to do, but when your console isn't right in front of you, you need to find that nice spot on the couch, floor, or whatever to get a good connection. If Nyko intends to create more chat panels for the PS4, they should tighten their quality control to ensure the chat panels don't go to sleep or disconnect. Finally, having glow-in-the-dark buttons is nice, but when other cheaper pads have backlit buttons and comparable battery life, and are just as difficult to use, Nico has no excuse to go for cheap glow-in-the-dark buttons, it's not. 90s, glow in the dark is no longer relevant. Like soft keys. UPDATED: After using this product for some time I found it more and more frustrating to use. I thought it would be handy to have an easily accessible chat on my controller to chat while playing FFXIV. This was not the case. I had to unplug my keyboard and plug in my computer's keyboard, which basically means this product is useless. In my previous review I wrote that you need to be in the right place to get a proper bluetooth connection. It turns out I was wrong. Wherever I went, after prolonged use, the pressure plate just wouldn't connect properly. I would have to reboot the whole device to get it working again. It also frustrated the other members of my group, who had to wait for an answer while I fiddled with the keyboard. I really tried to try this product but in the end I can't justify offering other players to buy this product. A few people have said they have used and enjoyed this product but most seem to have issues. Hopefully Nyko will release a better and more efficient chat panel in the future, but for now I have to use a regular keyboard.
