I was very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of these shirts. The 100% cotton fabric has a very good thickness and softness, does not feel transparent or cheap in any way. The neckline has a small front opening and the upper part of the sleeves is gathered, making this shirt a very feminine alternative to tarpaulin-style t-shirts. were fantastic. The only thing to note is that the thread didn't absorb the color at all, so it's probably 100% polyester. In any case, we were bothered by the white seams that flashed through the color on all edges. Size wise we bought a size 7-8 for a very slim 7 year old girl and it fits her perfectly. We have experienced no shrinkage, even after washing in very hot water and drying to set the dyes we use. I would suggest following the manufacturer's sizing guide to be sure of what size to purchase - the tag sizes seem to differ slightly for the age range the shirts fit best.
