I have upgraded my network card to dual channel. The original only had 1 antenna cable. When purchasing the antenna I read many other antenna reviews where people complained about the wires being too short. If you take the time to route the antenna into the shielding case (as you should to reduce interference) then you definitely need this! I don't know if it's the antennas or the new NIC, but I get the same download speeds over Wi-Fi as over Ethernet (connected directly to the router), which I find absolutely amazing. When buying an antenna, make sure that it fits your network card, otherwise problems may arise or it may not work at all. The only reason I gave 3 stars for the installation is because of the laptop and not the antenna cables. Since there is very little space inside the laptop, I had to disassemble a significant portion of the laptop to properly route the antenna cables. If you do the installation yourself, just search You Tube for many installation videos.
