I use them in my smoke detectors , replace them once a year ,the store bought throw away batteries cost about $5 for one that gets expensive when you have a lot of smoke detectors ,the company claims they can be recharged 1000 plus times , they save me money over a long period of time and will more pay for themselves in the long run they are also approved by the Underwriters laboratory for use in smoke and carbon monoxide.
