I bought a set of 72mm UV/FLD/CPL. Here is the bottom line:1. The FLD is definitely some cheap plastic. But I really don't care, I won't be using it as my camera has an in system adjustment. The mount feels like plastic, too. I'll be throwing it in the garbage.2. The UV could be glass or plastic, but regardless it's perfectly fine. You have to remember that UV filters do little more than just protect the lens. The mount feels like metal.3. The CPL works well. I'm not sure if it is plastic or glass. It feels like plastic, however it feels nice and solid. So I can't complain. It does actually work, and I haven't noticed any quality degradation in pictures. The mount feels like metal and rotation action is very smooth.4. The little carry case is quite handy and a nice addition.You have to remember you pay $16 bucks delivered for a set of these. They seem to be durable to breakage, but we'll see if they develop scratches and clouding simply from cleaning ovetime.The UV and CPL I would highly recommend for the price.Filters are one of the highest margin items for manufacturers and retailers. So anytime you buy a brand name filter you are already overpaying. Do you get better coating and optics? I am sure a $50 or $100 BW or Hoya would do better than this set under certain light conditions. But hey, who're we kidding, under 99% of shooting conditions I can't tell the difference.One trick I'd like to suggest to all: If you use a lens with high zoom range (e.g. 18-250 or 28-300) you may want to consider buying a filter size 10mm larger than your zoom's filter thread. So for a 62mm thread get a 72mm filter, a 72 mm collapsible rubber hood (get a nice one like Hoya: runs $20 or so), and a 62-72 step-up ring (couple bucks). What this allows you to do is to use a 72 mm filter on a 62 mm lens thread. Using this method, with a step-up ring, a CPL, and collapsible hood in a row, you can eliminate vignetting in your widest angle range and still offer decent flare protection in the maximum zoomed range. Now that my friends will improve the quality of photos you take.
