Review on AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AM4 Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler (YD1600BBAFBOX) - 65W Energy Efficiency by Jnis Staulis ᠌

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

Review of Ryzen 5 1600x. I looked closely at the Ryzen line for a very long time, because in 15 years of working with different hardware I never had AMD processors, but after the snot under my i7 4770k lost overclocking stability even on water, I decided to abandon Intel. I bought a processor for 16k, despite the fact that there is no boxed cooler on it - I bought this particular copy because of XFR, which boosts the processor on water to 4.1 on the core if necessary, without excess heat. With constant acceleration, heat dissipation is noticeable even on water. The processor is Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240, temperature (from a real sensor), 33 in idle / 57 in stress. Unfortunately, on AGESA 1.0.0.6, Corsair memory modules based on Hynix chips cannot be overclocked above 3066 MHz. Everyone is waiting for the next AGESA, but even without such overclocking, all games work perfectly with performance comparable to the i7 7700k, although AMD positions this processor more like an i5 analogue. From myself, I would recommend taking memory on Samsung chips (it runs without problems) + dual-rank, since there is no difference in price, and in games the gain will be about 10-15 FPS. In general, I am more than satisfied with the processor, I wish AMD to continue to keep such a bar in terms of cost / performance / heat dissipation.

Pros
  • Excellent performance per dollar Low heat dissipation Solder under the lid
Cons
  • Some memory problems on hynix chips
