Works well as a mouthwash and doesn't sting like some mouthwashes. It doesn't have the cooling effect that I personally hate in mint flavored products and would suit anyone with a mint allergy. It's not sweet and doesn't taste very much like "grape" or even the "grape" flavor you find in sodas and candies. The taste is very chemical but tolerable and as an adult I can certainly use mouthwash as an alternative to breath mints. I doubt the child will tolerate the taste as it is somewhat bitter and unpleasant. And since the target audience is kids, taste may be an issue for some.
