starrett 380-36: layout tools

I was surprised when the package arrived, the box felt like it had lead in it. But when I opened it up, it was the straight edge that weighed so much. This item is heavy and was packaged well. wrapped in a kind of paper soaked in liquid oil. I've been using my powermatic model 64A table saw for 10 years and thought it was set up straight and sharp. When I tested it with my new ruler, the right extension wing sagged about 0.012 inches on the outside. I loosened the screws on the wing and put it under the screws and lined it up. extension wings. When I set up my saw I used a 4 foot level, can't believe the level wasn't that bad. I also used an asterisk to attach the fence to my shaper, you won't believe the difference. If you are having trouble getting accurate cuts from your table saw, planer or jointer then I suggest you break down and buy the best ruler on the market, you won't regret it for a long time.
