Bought this antenna for camping and car trips and easy to quickly move from one car to another and no need to drill holes for fixed mounting etc. The kit comes with a fairly strong magnet which is not has the problem of hanging at 70 mph. The silicone/rubber base is nicer than the felt backing and will not wear off or scratch the paint as it ages. It's not a good idea to lose him. It's relatively short and the adjustment screw provides an easy way to adjust the SWR. It works well for its size and increased the range of my Midland 75-822 via the rubber duck antenna for auto deployment. I would give 5 stars if the silicone/rubber base was permanently attached to the bottom or if it was more solid and didn't come off as easily.
