I'm very picky about humidifiers because cleaning is always a hassle and I'm a light sleeper so noise is a problem. For years I've been looking for a humidifier that meets three requirements: easy to clean; very low noise level; not very bright LED. . The size of my room is 11 x 13. When the TV is on you can hear the sound of a water peter, but that's about it. When the TV is turned off, you hear this + hum. In the middle of the night when there is little to no noise outside, the audio is actually quite loud. You might not be able to hear it in the larger room where it's further away, but the size of my room will make it difficult for you to get back there if, like me, you get up at night to use the bathroom to sleep. Also, the higher the power output, the louder and more frequent the Peter's knocking will be heard from the area where the fog is coming from. The LED itself isn't that bad. I bought the white version and the LED is green but slightly diffused behind the plastic. It's reversed so I can't see it. Maybe you could put a piece of tape on it to hide it. Clean up is a breeze. The hole is so big I can put my whole hand in it and give it a good rub after a simple bleach solution. Since there is no filter in the kit, I just pour filtered water in it. It's a bit of a hassle, but if you fill the tank halfway and set the power to just under half, you'll still have a decent amount of water after 9 hours (depending on the size of the room I guess?). Easy cleaning is the reason I keep this unit. I'm definitely not going to keep it in the bedroom, but it would work great in the living room/computer area.
