No regrets, highly recommended. First of all, I am very impressed with the sound quality. It reproduces stereo sound and has good separation between left and right channels. I like that the scheme has very few elements and I prefer a minimalist design. I feel like DSP and other features interfere with accurate sound reproduction and I don't use them anyway. I want to hear music the way it was made to be played. I also listen at 25-50% volume which is loud enough trust me. If you turn the volume up to around 60%, you'll start to hear diminishing results in terms of audio quality, which is what I'd normally expect from any budget device. There's no volume control, so you'll have to control it with the bass and treble controls or via your device. No, it won't compete with audiophile amps that cost 100x more, but I honestly can't believe how good it sounds at this price point and in such a small form factor. I don't hear any audible distortion when playing music or turning up the volume during pause. The block requires assembly, which takes 5 minutes, but it's no big deal. I liked the build experience because I'm more comfortable with it now and it's nice to save money by reducing assembly time at the factory. You should also be aware that this device does not come with an AC adapter, so you will need to provide your own. I used an old 20V laptop charger that puts out 4.5A because I wanted to provide enough power with enough headroom for the amp. If you don't have one, just go to a thrift store or flea market. With the adapter unplugged, simply cut the connector, strip the wires, determine plus and minus with a multimeter, then use the included Phillips screwdriver to connect the amplifier. The amp runs from 12V to 24V DC, but of course it will deliver better performance and sound quality with less distortion if you give it more voltage and a decent current rating. Anyway, I connected all the wires and found that the screw heads didn't snap off when tightened. I've had this with other cheap products and wanted to point it out. The volume switch is different in that it turns off when you turn it all the way down and the LED goes off as well. When you turn it on, Bluetooth will automatically connect to your phone. No PIN code or button to press. Not sure what version of BT is being used but seems to work fine at 20ft. Now for the sound. My amp is connected to Denon home theater surround speakers that don't have the highest resolution, efficiency, or musicality; but i like them because they are relatively cheap, i have had them, they are very small, they can handle 100 watts rms and they are 6 ohms each, the mids go down to 60hz and they have soft dome tweeters like mine Ears don't get tired after many hours of listening. I turned all the knobs down and gradually cranked up the volume to find that it sounded flat with a bunch of mids. That was to be expected, and I found moving the treble by 50% and the bass by 50% to 100% sounded the best. I'm converting an old 5" Sony subwoofer with no 4 ohm amp (rating unknown) from a crappy home theater system to a box I have laying around and it sounds best at 50%. I believe that equates to a crossover setting around 80hz-110hz but can't tell for sure as there aren't any markings on the case No big deal I've only used my ears so far and will adjust in the future As I use this amp more often I have those Subwoofer volume set to 100% because I like some bass and it sounded best with the speakers I have with the amp volume set to 50% This amp blew me away There is more than enough power to fill a room to fill, especially when using desktop or bookshelf speakers a few feet away. I don't have a review unit, but my ears tell me that its performance is very close to the speaker and subwoofer rating g lies.
