The unit came like new but when I took it out of the box it had scuffs, scratches and marks as if it had been used. It works as described; makes one waffle each. BUT, the timer only gives you a ready waffle. I've tried cooking at different temperature settings several times and even on high (maximum) the waffle was still a bit light and only browned in places. I love slightly crispy waffles. Give it about a minute or so (even on the highest setting). The surface must be non-stick coated. Sometimes it gets stuck. Be sure to apply plenty of oil to the upper and lower heating plates. The panels are not removable, so cleaning them is a bit of a hassle. In addition, the build quality seems poor. Let's see how long this lasts. (It has a two-year limited warranty.) You get what you pay for β a decent waffle maker for less than $30. I won't be using it often, just when we're in the mood for waffles or treating the company to a nice little surprise for breakfast or maybe dessert.
