I have a cheap drill press that is terribly difficult to adjust in height. The height must be adjusted by lifting the drill head with one hand and tightening the clamp on the stand with the other hand. When tightening the collar, the head invariably moves. I bought this linear actuator to mechanize the process. Luckily it works great. Flicking the switch raises or lowers the drill precisely, holding it in place while the ring is tightened. The drive moves precisely and quickly with enough torque to move a heavy drill bit. Project.
