Review on Sigma MC-11 Mount Converter: Enhanced Compatibility for Canon SGV Lenses on Sony E Cameras by Christopher Wells

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not great and not worth the money I spent on it. $50 would do, but not $150.

Purchased for use with Sigma 50mm 1.8 'red-dot' lens and Sony a7r III. Only manual focus is possible while the lens is attached and the adapter seems to randomly freeze my camera. Can't manage fstop so works like a physical connection but nothing more. Random freezing does not occur with the Sony FE lens that I purchased with the camera. It's convenient, which is why I give it 2 stars. If the autofocus works at all, even slowly like others have said along with fstop, I would give it 4 stars. I can't give 5 stars even if the focus works because my camera freezes and I have to reset it by removing the lens and battery. FYI: Will not fit white dot crop sensor lenses, only red dual purpose lenses. point lenses.

Pros
  • Available in SA-Sony FE and Canon EOS EF versions-Sony FE
Cons
  • Newer model could have been selected
