I don't write many reviews but I am very impressed with this device. Thoughtful design, easy to set up, easy to use. He doesn't try to do too much, but he does what he has to do very well and reliably. I will buy more for other toys. If you can find room for something the size of a small cell phone (don't enclose it in metal that can block the signal), you can secure any vehicle, tractor, trailer, bike, ATV, or even other type of cargo. When I had a question, the company was very responsive and helpful, which is refreshing these days. If I had to be picky the paper instructions that come with it are pretty flimsy lol but don't worry there are great instructions online and on their app. It depends on cellular for most of its useful work (it uses multiple providers). So if you live completely offline this can pose a problem (although it will still come in handy if a stolen car pulls into a serviced area). For other reasons, I don't like ongoing costs and subscriptions, even for movies or TV, so I immediately turned most trackers off because they cost $20 or more a month. This device only costs $4/month for constant tracking, and despite what it does, I can live with that. I should also mention that wired devices will destroy your battery when the vehicle is not in use and other battery devices I have seen have claimed battery life from a few days to 3 weeks, this one could last a year or more. Today I tested under real conditions and was very impressed with the accuracy and reliability. It intentionally drove through areas with notoriously poor phone service and only got an update with an estimated location, no GPS, even when it was surprisingly close (if GPS isn't available right now, it will triangulate cell tower estimates). If there is no cellular service at the Monimoto location, the device will still record the location and transmit it if possible. Surprisingly, when I zoomed in on the map, most of the resulting locations were so good that they even showed a pin on the correct side of the road for the direction I was going. To borrow a line from the classic movie (My Cousin Vinnie), I found this device "like dead eggs" :) . let them through. The difference wasn't huge, just a minute or so back and forth. Also, it's not just geo-fencing, where a bike has to travel a certain distance before an alarm goes off. Any movement triggers an alarm, even if the bike's location hasn't changed. I love that the first alert comes with a real phone call, as most of us are used to ignoring message alerts from time to time. The more I learn, the more impressed I am with the ideas and design of this system and software, including the presence of controls and tools to deal with non-standard situations such as "the bike with the key fob has been stolen" or "the key fob has been locked." Left home." Highly recommended. (Just for the record: I have absolutely nothing to do with this company and bought the unit with my own money.) Update: This may be obvious to younger techs, but it took me a while to to discover it and I didn't see it any mention in the documentation.. (I'm on Android) When in alert mode and getting the location from the device it shows a pin on a google map but this map is not a fully active google map What I didn't realize at first was that when you press the "pin" you get two choices. One takes you to a live google map which gives you satellite overlays etc and the other lets you select google direction straight to the applied location pin. Just be aware that playing with it like I did will drain your battery quickly. Now I have the courage to leave him alone and once a day he tells me he's fine and ready. Fiction! As much fun as it is functional.
