This will be my 4th or 5th Otterbox iPad and iPhone case and while every member of my family (with other cases) has cracked (or smashed) a phone, I never have! These cases are sometimes criticized for being clunky, but they're certainly functional, and if keeping $600+ devices from breaking isn't a top priority, I don't know what is. Also, I LOVE the fact that this rubberized case is "sticky". I can put it on my car seat or even on my dashboard and it stays where I put it. I recently tried one of those dash phone holders that attach to air vents and broke the fin (which isn't cheap to fix on a BMW) so I decided to stop using them and recently an Apple case Bought which was (leather) and) nice but WILL NOT stay where I put it (was slippery)! I now have an extra $60 Apple case that I don't use. Those Otterbox cases that are 'sticky' once again stay in place. Therefore, even after several years of using several of these cases, I will not use anything else. These are excellent, really functional covers. Update: There is a small issue with THIS Otterbox case that doesn't seem to have a fix. I noticed that there was a small amount of water between the case screen and the phone screen. I've seen this before when a little rain splashed on the case and some of it fell through the hole in the camera lens. This causes dark spots on the screen. So I took the case off and although I didn't see any moisture I wiped both surfaces gently and thoroughly with a cotton cloth and put the case back on the phone but the dark spots were still there! So I did the same thing AGAIN, this time with the detergent on the fabric in case the interfering agent was some kind of oil, and put it back together, and you know what? WITHOUT CHANGE! So, in case I left a little washing-up liquid on any of the parts, I did it again, this time with clean water, dried thoroughly and reassembled everything. I STILL HAVE THOSE DARK SPOTS ON THE SCREEN that look like there's water between the case's protective film and the phone! The reason must lie in the physical interaction between the very smooth surface of the phone and the equally perfectly smooth inner surface of the housing's screen film. It's not a very serious problem, but it's definitely annoying! My perfectly working case now seems to have water inside the case. I'm not entirely satisfied, but other than that I like this case, so I'm reducing my rating to just one star, down to 4 stars.
