Made in USA. An interesting design I chose because I understand that this type of wrench is not likely to fail as it essentially works like the old beam torque wrenches. The ending didn't impress me too much. Only the top of the instrument is polished, the sides and bottom are bare metal. You can see the interior of the Hills grip which has some surface rust when shipped. The papers that came with it said it was made on 09/2016 and I bought it on January 17th. I like the design and it seems accurate throughout the range. Note that the instructions say to set the torque on the upstroke. It reads just under 20 ft/lbs, so you can get that even on the lowest setting. I've compared this to Delco's AC torque gauges using a 3/8" Click Performance Tool and a 1/2" Pittsburgh Tools (both cheap Chinese tools). The Delco AC Torque Gauges (3/8" and 1/2") are new and their calibration records show them to be almost perfectly calibrated, much better than the 2% advertised. In addition, the measured values of the two indicators are almost identical in comparison. So I thought they would provide a good way to check the size if this button can compete with cheap click styles. Overall I was impressed with all of the wrenches but this model certainly fared better when looking at the competing offering and was the only one with 4% out of 20% accuracy as promised. Both cheap Chinese were anything but high or low. Note that all of these keys only need to be accurate within the range of 20% to the upper bound of the range.
