Open-ended torque wrenches should only become more popular!

I was looking for a new torque wrench (tw) when I accidentally left my 10-100 lbft Husky injured for 3-4 months. I've never liked the cheap feel of a Husky so figured it would be a good excuse to find a better mic and check out a lot of twos including the CDI, Eastwood, Kobolt, PI and Tekton. Ultimately it was narrowed down to a PI 10-100 split beam and a CDI click mic, but eventually settled on the PI because it was something different. Given what happened to the Husky, I figured this tw would

Well built, durable, easy to use, minimal worries about losing calibration

As a home mechanic who (thankfully) doesn't always work under the hood of my car, I wanted a quality torque wrench that would and wouldn't be accurate quickly lost its calibration over time. The impetus for the purchase was to make sure I braked properly on my wife's car. I have a larger 1/2 drive torque wrench for 50-250 ft/lb but I haven't had anything that would reduce the torque to 20 ft/lb. I didn't want the brakes to fail due to improperly calibrated bolt tightening, which resulted in the

Solid design, durable, USA

Made in USA. An interesting design I chose because I understand that this type of wrench is not likely to fail as it essentially works like the old beam torque wrenches. The ending didn't impress me too much. Only the top of the instrument is polished, the sides and bottom are bare metal. You can see the interior of the Hills grip which has some surface rust when shipped. The papers that came with it said it was made on 09/2016 and I bought it on January 17th. I like the design and it seems…

Beautifully crafted precision tool

I purchased a precision instrument 3/8 drive split bar torque wrench for a head gasket job I had to do a few years ago on a 2005 Honda Civic which involved loosening the cylinder head bolts had to . being attracted to something like 65-85 ft-lbs and i loved it! You simply set the dial to the level of torque and the tool will click when the torque specification is met, nice, clear and audible. There's no need to reset it or turn the knob back to 0 when you're done with it. to wear out, I wish it
