Wide angle lens not very useful

I have this for my octoprint. Raspberry Pi Cam v2 is ok, better than v1. But the picture is still mediocre. 1920 x 1080 has a cropped field of view. The wide-angle lens has a fixed focus and cannot be resized, making it virtually useless. Unfortunately, there aren't many options unless you want to spend more than $100 for a true Logitech HD webcam.
