Was difficult to set up but I finally figured out what the problem was. I had to use an old Cisco/Linksys router to initially mirror and set up my work network. This does not work with my company wireless Unifi gear even if I disable 5g. I eventually found out that there was a 2.4GHz WiFi setup in my Cisco/Linksys configuration that allowed me to go from a mixed (802.11b/g/n) to a (802.11b/n) environment. g) to switch. After I managed to drop the 801.11n standard, the charger connected directly to my WiFi and completed the in-app setup process. Once it was up and running, I turned off the old Cisco/Linksys router and it was able to connect directly to my Unifi 2.4GHz work network. So far it's installed alongside the backup generator and seems to be working great. I called their tech support and told their Wi-Fi expert Josh what I found. I suspect they decided to use an older wireless chipset that isn't very compatible with modern wireless devices in order to lower the cost of the device. Let's hope they learn from their mistakes and replace the chipset in next-gen chargers. I hope this helps someone, it only took me 4 hours of troubleshooting to finally pinpoint the problem and get it into production.
