I wear a size 10. I ordered a medium size. They came a little more than I needed. After washing, drying on high heat, and now they are almost right or maybe a bit small. They are thicker than they appear in the photo. They make good hikers in cold weather. I wore them on a snowboard and they were great. If it really is merino then it's a blend because it's not as soft as I think it is when I think of merino. If you're wearing them with shoes that are perfect for thinner socks, look elsewhere. . If your feet are slightly larger, take the next size up and tumble dry or hang dry. If you're on the smaller end of the range, they're perfect. Overall this was a solid purchase but they don't compare to expensive high end wool socks like the SmartWool.
