Review on πŸ“ Klein Tools 5196 Tape Measure Holder: Genuine Leather, Large Size, Durable by Joseph Rasmussen

It's great when you know what you're doing.

This strap holder is great if you know what you're doing. When you work in commercial construction, you need quality tools, bags and holders for everything. This is the best strap holster I have ever owned and will be the only holster I will use. To be honest, it could take my entire career as long as I take care of it. Once you receive it, it definitely dries to the bone. So grease the damn thing. I used leather boot oil which is foot oil and beeswax. I had to apply it several times for the skin to fully absorb it. This is great because you can add any oil from the start instead of letting the manufacturer do it for you. This makes it oiled, waterproof and flexible. Also, the form I use contains tannins, giving it a nice bourbon brown color rather than a light color. If it was already oiled, it would not be able to change color. Over time, it became darker and more flexible. What I like. Pros and Cons Pros: 1- Raw leather so can be trimmed to any oil you apply. 2- The rivets are strong and haven't come loose or anything. She is durable. 3- Suitable for a good size tape. It may be tight at first, but will stretch over time to fit larger bands. The 25ft band worked fine for me initially, but it's definitely looser now, so I have a 35ft Fatmax. Also remove the clip from the back of the band and screw the screw back into the band after removing the clip to keep it from snagging. 4 - high quality leather and rivets. I've had it for almost 2 years and like I said it's held up despite the summer heat, freezing winter and heavy rain. 5 - The button to close still works and still fits perfectly. 6 - ideal for commercial construction. I've had it for almost 2 years now and I know it will last a long time. 7- Once buckled, you can quickly measure the tape measure without removing it from the holster. Probably my favorite bonus. Cons: 1 - It takes some time to get used to. 2 - a small strap can be annoying. I don't usually use it unless I'm walking up stairs or flying in mid-air, which is common since I'm a commercial plumber. 3-TBD. If I find anything else I will update my review. But after almost 2 years I have already withdrawn my money from it.
