not for aluminum, flimzy handles

bought this to file down some squared holes in an aluminum chassis which was .055in thick. the 40 file should theoretically file the hole easily, but that wasnt the case. dont use these to file aluminum. also, the red rubber handle is very flimzy. after trying to file the edges of a hole in the chassis for like 10 minutes, the rubber broke and left the handle in bare metal. they work well for filing my soldering iron and other things, just not aluminum and other metals.

Pros
  • Appear to be a good value, for cost, as a machinist these are handy for sharpening a variety of items
Cons
  • Not real bad. I wanted some of them to be sharp on the corners. I will see how long they last.

Great set, even though it’s from China.

The Chinese screwed up and accidentally made quality tools! These files are perfect for putting a razor sharp edge on knives, files any cutting tools. The diamond grit lasts longer than any diamond sharpeners I’ve yet to try and I’ve gone through a bunch of them! Price is good, I’ve bought four sets to make sure I have a set at all my various work stations. Highly recommend!

Pros
  • Wide selection of grits, nice heft and feel. Used for slight adjustment of Glock ejector.
Cons
  • They lose their grit quickly-but something better. Chinese junk

As Advertised good for me

These perform as advertised and are the only realistic type of files for use on tool steel such as drill bits. Ordinary files will simply dull with a few applications.JSmith

Pros
  • nice to have for many different projects.
Cons
  • They are not versatile enough and can only be used for specific tasks

You'll Be Reaching For These A Lot

I find myself reaching for these files a lot. I wish they had a thinner edge to allow getting in even tighter spots, but that's nitpicking. A great addition to my shop to be sure.

Pros
  • The HTS 101E0 diamond needle files set offers high-quality tools for a variety of uses
Cons
  • They cannot file hard materials, making the product less versatile

Love these files. good for me

like the fact that i got what"s in the picture, the handles are round and they look square. They are 7" long overall and 3/8" wide, the filling area is 2 3/4" long.

Pros
  • The diamond coating makes the files long-lasting when compared with traditional steel files
Cons
  • The set is very expensive, making it out of reach for many users

very small and not precise shapes

These are super mini sizes. I work in miniatures, and have small hands - but these are ridiculously small. But my main issue with them is that they do not have any 90degree angles and some are duplicate shapes. I received 2 diamond-shaped profiles, and 2 oval profiles. They all have slightly rounded edges like poorly cast metal in a mold used too many times. Was hopeful these would be good for my traveling work kit, and will use them until I find more precise files *in person* at a trade show.

Pros
  • Includes: equaling, half-round, square, crossing, crochet, knife, and two styles of triangle and round files
Cons
  • They are not very useful for working on metal

great little files - my new review

i would give it a 5 but the picture shows flat handles, and mine are round, the rubber coating comes right off and it's uncomfortable in my hand. I haven't found a use for the 40 grit, as the texture is like very course beach sand. Everything I put the files through they survived just find. One of them serves as a file for metal so my junk DMT files can do the fine sharpen (these cheaper looking files are better than DMT files any day). You get about 3" or so of usable grit, and the edge also…

Pros
  • The set is ideal for both hobbyists and professional craftsmen alike
Cons
  • The metal used is not sturdy enough to resist wear and tear

Seem like good files

Seem like good files. I use them on wood and plastics. The only complaint which knocks a star off is the storage/carrying case is kind of flimsy. Mine was torn out of the shipping box.

Pros
  • works good
Cons
  • The diamond grit is too coarse and can leave rough edges

600 isn't as robust as the others

They're a great little flat file set to have around! I use them at work to face off hardened steel zipper guides. Perfect size and grit selection for getting the wear grooves out and then smoothing it out again. The 600 grit file will only last so long before it's too much for the poor little thing. Still a great deal though! Highly recommended.

Pros
  • ‎Red
Cons
  • The set does not have files of different shapes, which makes versatility limited

GREAT JOB AND AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICEOF OTHER .

I'm A MACHINIST AND NEED TO DEBURR HARDEN PARTS AS FAST AS I CAN. THESE FILES DO THE TRICK. GREAT JOB AND AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICEOF OTHER FILES. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.

Pros
  • HTS 101E0's diamond needle files set is perfect for intricate tasks that require fine attention to detail
Cons
  • The file set is not reliable for prolonged use

Good for photo etch parts

I use these for photo etched parts for models and they work great. It is a good assortment of grits and so far I have had the right ones for the job. The handles are dipped and are very secure and comfortable. The files also have a large working surface area.

Pros
  • The set is an excellent value for the price, given the high quality and quantity of the files
Cons
  • They are not suitable for precision engineering

Great set of diamond files for any use and need.

Bought this set to have fur future use and had a need to start to file down a rear handgun sight I ordered for my new PPQ. I need to slightly file it down to make it fit on the slide . this is a great set for stuff like that and having the variable grits. For the price and quality I would definitely recommend these.

Pros
  • The diamond coating allows for easy removal of difficult to reach material and sharpens blunt edges
Cons
  • The diamonds are not perfectly set, reducing the file's quality

I bought these files specifically to clean up the frets on my newly purchased Squier bass and they did the job exactly as I needed them to. They were the right size and easy to handle. I've found a few other jobs around the house that they've been useful for as well. I will likely never need to buy files of this size or type again.

Pros
  • 100% satisfaction
Cons
  • The diamond particles come off the file, leaving scratches on the surface being worked on

Excellent set of files

These are very well made and come in various grits so that you have from course to fine. I do a lot of scroll work and these are great for smoothing out the few rough edges you may have. I highly recommend this tool. Shipping was fast and the price is right.

Pros
  • ‎5.5 x 0.13 x 0.13 inches
Cons
  • The small surface area means that they need to be replaced more frequently than other files

Great little files (case, not so much)

The files do their job, in this case, smoothing cut-back cowrie shells,.and they fit my hands moderately comfortably (I may try adding crochet hook cushion grips) The point off is for the 'case' -- it's absolute rubbish (super-thin vinyl) and I tore it inserting the files in it the first time out. I'd suggest either beefing up the case or ditching it

Pros
  • met expections
Cons
  • The diamond particles come off easily and can cause harm if they get into the eyes

Good for shaping and polishing stones

These little files are perfect for my hobby, shaping and polishing stones by hand. The are about the size of a ball point pen. The packaging left me feeling a little leery about the quality, but for the price they are a great tool.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The files are too fragile, requiring a lot of care when handling them

I used the finer grit files today for the first time. I had to reshape a small tamper proof screwdriver. I started off with the 400 file as it is less aggressive but the diamond abrasive began to come off in relatively large fakes. The more aggressive 240 and 150 seem ok. The price was low so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It is still disappointing.

Pros
  • The set is easy to clean, as diamond is non-porous and does not collect debris
Cons
  • The files have no safety instructions

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great Deal for the price.

They are not DMT quality, however each file is truly a differnt grit and the packaging is labeled with the grit, each file is not labeled.

Pros
  • These files look just like the picture.
Cons
  • They can be easily damaged if not stored properly

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great file set best in my review

I always misplaced or lost my hook sharpener, so I put couple of these in my tackle box, great for sharpen hooks, I'm sure they're good for many use.

Pros
  • The 140mm length of the files allows for greater precision and control during use
Cons
  • The files could be dangerous if not used correctly

Great Files: my feedback

I use the set of HTS-101l0 Diamond flat files for jewelry making purposes. I am new to basic metal work and these files suit me just fine. great for finishing ear wires and clasps.

Pros
  • Product was exactly what I expected and will use to put an edge on router bits.
Cons
  • The files are too small and can only be used for intricate work
