More than a good camera, in most cases, for this price. I make videos for her, and she seems to like them. The pluses: 1) The word "assembly" in Japanese says it all (buy a Japanese assembly) The best solution for a low-cost compact camera in my opinion is a combination of features: 2) extremely good full-HD video - for this I purchased 3) dynamic settings + manual settings, like in a DSLR. Some drawbacks: 1) It's tricky to use a two-handed grip on the camera because of the flash. 2) Using the zoom or adjusting the settings "on the go" makes shooting without a tripod challenging.
