The protective plastic coating is a disaster!

PROS1. This unit is the cheapest pasta maker I have ever seen, but unfortunately, as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". AGAINST 1. Presumably to prevent the stainless steel surfaces from being scratched during packaging and shipping, a thin protective plastic coating is applied to every part of this device, similar to the type of protective plastic that is applied to a brand's face. new clock or kitchen timer. The problem is that instead of putting this layer of plastic on all surfaces of this device AFTER assembly, the plastic was clearly placed on those surfaces BEFORE assembly. This serious breach of common sense resulted in pieces of plastic being stuck tightly between the mating parts of the device. I spent over an hour using my nails and a pair of tweezers trying to completely remove every bit of protective plastic from this device, but it was an insanely useless exercise. This senseless choice on the part of the manufacturer broke me. Over time, if I dared to use this device, pushing the dough through its various surfaces would inevitably break and dislodge the remaining plastic bits, and where it landed would end up in my pasta dough! I don't care about that kind of risk, and I think few other consumers do either. 2. The wooden grip on the handle is loose.3. The manual is bad. It has few instructions, poorly labeled illustrations, and microscopic writing on four small pages. In short, it's practically useless.
