I was looking for an environmentally friendly replacement for plastic sponges and I finally found it! I've replaced my plastic dishwashing brush with a natural one, but inevitably there are bits of stuff stuck that the brushes can't remove. Plus a tabletop. I've never been a fan of kitchen towels that seem to get wet and moldy and never have enough texture to rub anything off with the slightest determination to stay. The coarse-meshed texture of these fats solves this problem. They're not as good as good old ScotchBrite, but I'm pretty sure nothing will ever fully replace these dependable yellow/green workhorses. For my part, I'm willing to choose second best so I don't end up throwing more plastic into the landfill every few weeks.
