Review on 💧 Hydr-8 Time Marked 32oz Air Insulated Water Bottle Mug by Alexis Guiney

DO NOT purchase this mug if you cannot tolerate the taste and feel of plastic and/or chemicals when drinking. I never write bad reviews but I think you should be aware of the consequences of this purchase as there is no way to get a refund. I contacted the seller and basically she replied that she had never heard any complaints about the plastic/chemical taste/feel but I see other reviews describing the same issue so pay attention to the reviews. I've made many attempts to get rid of the plastic/chemical taste but so far to no avail. I have washed the cup/straw three times in very hot soapy water. I soaked the cup/straw in hot, soapy water overnight. In desperation, I washed the cup/straw three times in the dishwasher. Failed! It seems to get worse with the straw, but I still haven't completely rid my mouth of the plastic feeling even after drinking the water without a straw (the taste seems to come from the straw out of the cup). In fact, the plastic coating in my mouth lasts for several hours after drinking water from a cup. I don't know how else to try to get rid of what's haunting this mug. Also, I use filtered water in this cup so I don't think there is anything in the water as I can drink the same water from a regular glass with no problem. Any tips to work on the taste/feel? I love the idea of this mug. This is a quality design, it looks sturdy and keeps the water cold. I'd love to figure out how to get this to work.
