The last time I was in my hometown was in connection with my father's funeral. Since he's gone I really have no reason to go back, so while I was there I decided to buy a commemorative t-shirt for the first time in my life. Unfortunately, there are no commemorative t-shirts in Palm Bay, Florida, and the few "Florida" companies I could find didn't particularly appeal to me. In fact, they had a disgusting design. So I went to Melbourne and... I didn't really find anything there either. Nothing unique to the area or with a design I would actually wear that didn't call me a "Florida man" or a hillbilly. So I drive to the beach and get on the longboards. I found many t-shirts there that met my needs, but they were ridiculously expensive for something I would probably get dirty before returning to Denver. nothing Florida or anything that had the "beach" or "space coast" vibe I was looking for. But US1 runs through both Melbourne and Palm Bay, and while the shirt isn't exactly what I was looking for, it ticks the box. I will think of this part of Florida whenever I wear it. And that's all that matters.
