We live in an 1880's townhouse with 35 original windows and I received an offer of $750 for a window cleaner that only cleans the outside. My only other option to get to the third (and even second) floor would be up a three-story staircase, so this product was Hail Mary. It works out! A few tips: The window should be LATCHED on the outside and on the inside for smooth movement. If it bounces/jumps/goes away, it means you are not using enough water from the side. I used a garden sprayer and stretched out the window as far as I could to get the stains in, but I kinda thought of trying this tool out on a rainy day because I pre-soak both sides of old windows that don't open the Top. was definitely the hardest part. A mixture of warm water, vinegar, and dish soap worked very well. It's not a quick process. I spent about an hour plus cleaning each window (and a bunch of storm windows), so it will take me some time to process the whole house. For me it is still worth the money compared to the alternatives!
