First, throw away the tape you received. I tried to use it and it came loose with a few bangs on the door. Get some outdoor tape. I've used it and it's been rock solid ever since. My door was too high for the doorstop (it's the front door) so I found a solution that worked for me. If you have the same problem and need to raise the fence a little higher, do so. Go to the hardware store and buy some 5/8 inch washers. They are exactly the same diameter as the doorstop. Take enough shims to get the desired height. Then glue them together as straight as possible with JB welding or epoxy If you have a stack of washers glued together you can glue these to the doorstop or drill and cut some holes in the washers and screw them to the floor so the glue sticks better liable.
