I was looking for a way to experiment with connecting my Raspberry Pi to other hardware and the physical world in general. This kit looked like it had all the necessary parts plus lots of extras. The price was right. It would have cost me at least twice as much to get parts and pieces individually, not to mention the time it would take. Not only did I get a lot of hardware in one package, but the included optical disc has tons of datasheets and example projects with C and Python code. If you don't have an optical drive, you can download the content from the manufacturer's website. My favorite project so far is connecting a battery powered real time clock module. A battery powered hardware clock is one of the things the RPi doesn't have. There are many other sensors, displays, and discrete components. Many modules communicate with only 4 wires over I2C. Whether you are new to RPi, hardware, and IoT, or you already have experience, having the components and documentation in one place is very helpful. As a bonus, most modules can also be used with Arduino and ESP based boards. Overall a very worthwhile purchase.
