Great fun for the whole mouse family!

YES, MESH WHEELS CAN FIT - FOR MICE. They cling to the mesh with their toes as they run and don't get tangled. In fact, I think my mice prefer mesh wheels over hard plastic - they'll probably feel more confident if the wheel is going faster than their little legs and they're spinning over the top. I've always preferred silent spinners, but the mouse wants what the mouse wants. I found it ironic that my "random" color wheel turned out to be pink when it was meant for girls. They LOVE their balance bike. They run together a lot, and often the largest mouse begins to move quickly, and the rest just cling to it and keep rolling. In a circle, in a circle, in a circle. This wheel REALLY squeaks as the mouse runs and rubs off the paint. where the wheel spins (by friction) but I just rub some vegetable oil (I use sunflower oil) on the rod where the wheel spins AND IT IS QUIET. I can sit next to them on the couch and not even know they're running. Quieter than the Silent Spinner, IMHO. And as an added bonus (in their imaginations, I'm sure) they lick off the excess oil with happy tongues - when nobody's running, of course. This wheel also makes me a little happier on Cleanup Day - yes, it gets covered in pee (mice do) - but at least their poop isn't smeared all over the place. These basically tend not to stick, which has to do with centripetal force and all. This way I have a few little mouse poo that magically cling halfway up the wall of their glass container, but overall the clean up will be MUCH LESS GREAT than a solid wheel. Soap and hot water (and no extra 10 minutes of scrubbing leftovers) = clean! So buy this bike. YOUR MOUSEFRIEND WILL THANK YOU.
