Too bad it didn't have negative problems because it heats up well, at least where it heats up. The heat does not spread to the end of the mattress. We have a queen bed and I'm 5ft 8" tall (I'm female). As I lie down, my feet hit the cold spot at the foot of the bed. It was quite shocking when it first happened because I didn't expect it. I enjoyed the warm bed while sitting and reading. I turned off the light, lay down and my feet were in this icy place. How uncomfortable! Okay, that's the first and biggest problem. the length of the cable going to the remote as others have mentioned. You might think it doesn't really matter (I didn't until we lived with it), but to reach it I have to turn completely over onto my stomach and hang on your side to reach it. For real? For a hundred bucks they can afford longer cords to fit the remote on our bedside table. Another problem is that you can't lower the heat setting number. You can only go UP on numbers 1 through 8. Let's say you set it to 6 and it's too hot for you and you want to lower it to 5. That will not do. You can just click on the temperature button and it changes from 6 to 8 and then starts again at 1 and you have to keep pressing until you get to 5. All those clicks are just to lower the temperature by one digit! And finally, if the power goes off at night and then comes back on, guess what? It returns to a maximum of 8. We're in Texas, and last winter the utility company had to do regular power outages where they would turn off the power for a while and then turn it back on. So this happened several nights while we were in bed. It's okay, we thought, because we feel comfortable in bed. But when the power came back the mattress pad got very hot and we found that our remotes were set to 8 o'clock. We didn't have them at 8am when we both went to bed because 8am was too hot. I think it's a security issue to be honest. Imagine an elderly person is sleeping and the power goes on and off without their knowledge. This pad gets very hot because when power is restored to the pad it resets to the hottest setting. For all these reasons we will return it. For a hundred dollars we can find another mattress pad that doesn't have all of these problems.
